Welcome to Task Smart. By requesting an estimate, scheduling service, using our website, or communicating with us, you agree to the following Terms of Service. These terms are intended to be clear, practical, and fair to both the customer and Task Smart.
1. Who We Are
Task Smart is a locally owned handyman, installation, and property maintenance service operating in Polk County and surrounding Central Florida areas, including Davenport, Haines City, Kissimmee, Winter Haven, Poinciana, Champions Gate, and nearby communities.
We provide residential and light commercial repair, installation, maintenance, and improvement services.
2. Estimates and Scheduling
Estimates may be provided by phone, text, online, or in person based on information supplied by the customer.
Estimates are based on visible conditions and the described scope of work. Final pricing may change if site conditions differ, hidden issues are discovered, materials change, or the scope is revised.
Appointments are confirmed only after written, digital, or verbal confirmation from Task Smart.
Arrival windows may be used due to traffic, prior jobs, weather, or field conditions.
Some services may require a licensed specialty contractor or subcontractor where legally required.
3. Scope Changes and Additional Work
Any customer-requested additions, hidden damage, code issues, unforeseen conditions, or work outside the original estimate may require updated pricing and approval before continuing.
4. Payment Terms
Payment is due upon completion unless otherwise agreed in writing.
We may accept credit/debit cards, digital payments, electronic invoices, checks, or cash.
Deposits may be required for materials, custom orders, project scheduling, or larger jobs.
Unpaid balances may be subject to reasonable collection costs, late fees where permitted, and suspension of future service.
5. Cancellations and Rescheduling
Cancellations or rescheduling with at least 24 hours notice are generally free of charge.
Late cancellations, missed appointments, or inaccessible job sites may be subject to a trip charge or scheduling fee.
Task Smart may reschedule appointments due to weather, emergencies, illness, safety concerns, material delays, or other unforeseen circumstances.
6. Customer Responsibilities
Customer agrees to provide:
Safe and reasonable access to the work area
Functional utilities as needed (water, power, etc.)
Secured pets
Disclosure of known hazards or issues
Clear workspaces when practical
Delays caused by unsafe or inaccessible conditions may result in additional charges.
7. Materials and Customer-Supplied Products
Customer-supplied products or materials are installed as-is without material warranty by Task Smart.
We are not responsible for manufacturer defects, missing parts, shipping damage, incorrect sizing, incompatibility, or product failure.
Time spent addressing product issues may be billable.
8. Workmanship Warranty
Task Smart provides a 30-day limited workmanship warranty on labor directly performed by Task Smart unless otherwise stated in writing.
This warranty applies only to installation or repair defects caused by workmanship.
The warranty does not cover:
Manufacturer or product defects
Normal wear and tear
Misuse, abuse, neglect, or accidental damage
Customer modifications after service
Pre-existing conditions
Structural movement
Water intrusion, moisture damage, mold, pests, corrosion
Hidden plumbing/electrical failures
Cosmetic issues not raised at completion
Warranty claims must be reported promptly with reasonable access for inspection or correction.
9. Limitations of Service
Task Smart does not perform services requiring licensing beyond our scope unless completed by an appropriately licensed provider. We may decline any project involving unsafe, illegal, hazardous, structural, or unsuitable conditions.
10. Liability Limitation
Task Smart maintains business insurance appropriate to our operations.
To the maximum extent allowed by law, Task Smart’s total liability for any claim arising from a specific service shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific service.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, loss of use, loss of revenue, or delays beyond our control.
11. Photos and Marketing
We may photograph completed work areas or project progress for documentation, quality control, estimates, or marketing purposes. We will make reasonable efforts to avoid personally identifying information unless permission is granted.
12. Communications
By contacting or booking with Task Smart, you consent to receive service-related calls, texts, and emails regarding estimates, scheduling, invoices, updates, and follow-up. You may opt out of promotional messages at any time.
13. Website Use
All website content, branding, text, and media remain property of Task Smart unless otherwise stated. Unauthorized copying or misuse is prohibited.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Updated versions will be posted with a revised “Last Updated” date.
